Gore Pass Road Race
Cancelled for 2007
Seeking a New Promoter and Promoting Club for 2008...

Swift Cycling will NOT be promoting Gore Pass in 2007.  With the size and time commitment of Deer Trail and Hugo Road Races, we are seeking a new promoter and promoting club to take over Gore Pass Road Race in 2007 and beyond.   We are willing to give technical and possibly financial assistance, but will not be taking on a lead roll in the race promotion.  We feel that it is time for some other large teams in Colorado to take up the Road Race Promoting Hat...

If you or your club is interested email Stephen at RoadRace@CyclingEvents.com

First dealine is State Patrol Permits that must be in by early July....

  • State Patrol will only permit it after Labor Day Weekend.  It takes 6 State Patrol Officers at a cost of around $3,500.
  • Usual Rider turnout is around 300.  At $35 an entry we lost a little bit of money last year.  Would have to raise entry to $38 to $40 or find a cash sponsor to break even.
  • Could be back on in 2008, if somebody comes forward in the winter.

In the mountains of Northern Colorado.
